Writing Our Hope: The Poetry Contest |

All submissions and entries should include the following information with the nonfiction submission and poem entry: author's name, author's email address, author's current school and the city and state where that school is, current teacher's name at that school, and the teacher's email address. Please submit only one entry per student. Nonfiction works and accompanying poetry contest entries should be typed, proofread, and submitted by email to OURHOPE@WRITINGOURHOPE.ORG. The nonfiction submission should be correctly formatted in the body of the email with the poem, also in the body of the email, below it. All entries must be received by March 30, 2008. All submissions and entries will be reviewed and judged by the editors of Writing Our Hope, who are students in the Booker T. Washington Magnet High school creative writing magnet. Poems and nonfictions works will be judged separately. All submitting writers who provide a valid email address will receive a response about the contest results by May 30, 2008. The first, second, and third place poems will be published on the Writing Our Hope Web site. The first place poem will receive a cash prize.
